RATING

The VTOMAN Jump 600X is a great-looking portable power station, finished in matte black and yellow strips. It has a sturdy carrying handle, decent cable storage, and a range of inputs/outputs, all neatly arranged on the front. There’s also a medium light panel on the front, which is handy in case you’re camping or your car breaks down and you need something strong for illumination.

The rugged design of this portable power station gives the impression that it delivers more capacity and maximum power output than it actually does. That capacity comes in at 299Wh, which is expandable up to 939Wh with an additional Jump 600X battery (sold separately), but the LifeP04 battery offers up to 3,000 full life cycles.

While this capacity is rather surprising is because looking at power stations. This size you’d expect a bit more headroom; however, all factors considered, the VTOMAN Jump 600X is extremely well priced for what it offers. And, if you need more capacity and are willing to spend a little more, VTOMAN has alternatives of up to 3096Wh capacity.

Its size is smaller than the VTOMAN FlashSpeed 1000, but it offers a surface for placing a few equipment and gadgets.

What we like

Simple, Clear Operation

The VTOMAN Jump 600X is incredibly easy and intuitive to use, to the point that you can get it running without ever opening the manual – but it’s good to use the manual to ensure you aren’t missing anything. The backlit LCD on the front has a simple interface with clear commands to display the power station status and clear fault information when needed. All of the inputs and outputs are well labelled, and the power station comes with all the cables needed for it to work.

When out in the field or the middle of a power outage, you don’t want I fumble around looking for instructions. It comes with a light panel on the front, but it also stands out as a battery system that you can conveniently use without a problem, even in the dark.

Decent power for the price

With a 299Wh capacity, that doesn’t sound like much for the seasoned campers, but for occasional users, that’s enough capacity to run your appliances for an extended period. The VTOMAN website features a short list of approximate times the VTOMAN Jump 600X will work for various appliances, ranging from 1.5h for a juicer, 3h+ for a projector, and 4 charges for a MacBook Pro. 9+ charges for the iPad Pro and 27h+ for a 10-watt lamp.

That said, the Jump 600X with its 600W (1200W Instant Total) stands ideal for most users, whether used at home or out in the field. And should you need to extend its duration, the Jump 600X expansion battery throws in an additional 640Wh (totals to 939Wh), allowing you to extend use without frequent recharging. The extendable battery makes this power station ideal for both short-term and long-term power needs.

In addition to the impressive power delivery, the Jump 600X comes with lots of built-in protection systems, including the advanced LifeBMS system that manages various safety protocols such as over-voltage protection, overcurrent protection, and over-discharge protection.

So many plug options

The Jump 600X portable power station has 9 different output plugs, including 2*110V/600W AC Outlets, 2*12V/10A DC5521 Outputs, 1*12V/10A Car Port, 3*USB-A Outputs, and 1*TYPE-C PD60W Output, alongside the convenience of power-through charging. It’s hard to imagine a daily-use device that you can’t find a way to plug into the VTOMAN 600X, giving it maximum flexibility.

It’s not going to power large appliances, or anything that’s hardwired like the boiler at the corner in your home, but it’ll power just about anything else rated 600W and below.

Additionally, it features multiple charging modes, each designed for convenience and efficiency. You can choose to use the 100W solar panel input, 100W AC input, or the car input, with charging speeds optimized for each option. Solar and AC inputs offer faster recharges, but the varied options ensure that you can use the most suitable or available charging source when needed.

What we don’t like

Small capacity for the size

As mentioned before, the rugged design and size of the VTOMAN Jump 600X make it look like a typical 1000Wh capacity power station, but in reality, it packs much less. That locks it down to basic use at home or out in the field, but if you have a reliable charging source like solar during the day, it remains a great battery system for the price. I review gear for a living, and I can attest that I have not reviewed such a system that offers decent capacity at this price. So. If you can look beyond the size, the Jump 600X is an excellent piece of kit; plus, you can pair it with the extended battery pack for even more run time.

Also, unlike some premium models such as the Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 Portable Power Station, the Jump 600X doesn’t feature a wireless app or additional advanced features. However, its simple, sturdy design and ease of use make for a great power source at a very reasonable price.

VTOMAN Jump 600X Portable Power Station Review | Verdict

The VTOMAN Jump 600X is a great portable power station for a variety of purposes, from acting as a backup source powering the TV and lounge lights at home to running printers and projectors at the workshop and finally powering laptops, cameras, camping kettles, and lights out in the field. In all cases, it proves to be more than capable of handling the tasks required.

While it’s not free of tradeoffs, such as the size and weight relative to its capacity, what you’re getting is a cool and robust portable power station. It may not have the bells and whistles of some premium modes, but for a power station that prioritizes performance over everything else, it stacks up well, especially when you factor in the available accessories.

What we like is that you can purchase the VTOMAN Jump 600X as a base unit, then extend the battery capacity over time as needed. Plus, it is very inexpensive for the features, and it pairs all that with a substantial amount of capacity that is delivered safely and quietly.
